The gallery presents exhibits of her artworks including drawings and “Art Inside the Box”. These she describes as “miniature worlds created from found objects, antique postcards, old photographs, and microscopic people placed inside antique wooden boxes that you can fall into and discover a dream.”
Paul Smart, art critic for the Woodstock Times in a 2008 review wrote “her work mixes a format most easily recognizable as a type of child’s play with an almost cyptic adult sensibility. The results are Victoriana meets Modern Kitsch, a sense of playful commentary on very serious subjects…and fun. Not to forget, perfectly crafted work.”
Her “Art Inside the Box” was part of “New Mythology” a group exhibit at Pearl Arts Gallery in Stone Ridge, NY and in February 2008 Dillon had a solo exhibit at a new gallery opening Mixed Media Gallery in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
Her collectors include Lily Tomlin, Jane Wagner, actresses Mary Louise Wilson, Julie Halston, Annalee Jefferies, as well as celebrated sculptor Gillian Jagger. |
